Investment Promotion Agreement with Australia passed

[October 8, 2004 - 7.00 GMT]  

The Agreement between the Sri Lankan government and the Australian government for the promotion of investment in Sri Lanka by Australia, its nationals, corporations, com panies and other associations was approved by the Parliament on today, October 8.

192 Members of Parliament voted in favour of the motion. Members of the TNA did not participate in the vote. 

This agreement was approved by the Cabinet in August 2002 and signed in Canberra in November same year.
