President calls on Supreme Leader Ali Khameni

President Chandrika Kumaratunga called on H.E. Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khameni the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Wednesday (Nov 24) evening. Iran’s President Mohammed Khatami accompanied President Kumaratunga to the meeting held at the Spiritual Leader’s office. 

Later on Wednesday evening President Mohammed Khatami hosted a State Banquet in honour of the visiting Sri Lankan President and her delegation at the Sadabadd Hall. 

Today Thursday Nov 25th Dr. Kamal Karazzi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran will call on President Kumaratunga at the Boostan Palace. The Sri Lankan leader will also meet H.E. Hashemi Rafsanjani the Chairman of the Expediency Council and former President of the Republic of Iran

In the afternoon [3 pm SL time] today the proposed Memoranda of Understanding and bilateral agreements will be signed between the two countries at the Islamic Republic Mansion. After a farewell ceremony a Guard of Honour will be accorded to the President at the Republic Mansion Square.
