[December 28, 2004 - 11.00 GMT] All schools in the island that were scheduled to reopen for the new academic year on January 03, 2005, will not reopen on this day due to the disaster caused by tsunamis on Sunday, the Ministry of Education announced today. The new date for reopening schools will be notified later.
