Another tidal wave unlikely- SL Met Dept.

[December 30, 2004 - 11.30 GMT] 

The Meteorological Department in a special notification says tremors naturally follow a major earthquake. The Hawaii 'Tsunami Early Warning Center' has confirmed today that there is no likelihood of another tidal wave striking Sri Lanka.

The Department while expressing the need for residents of the coastal belt to be extra cautious and alert says there is no cause for panic.
