Six new judges were sworn in before President Chandrika Kumaratunga today to high offices in the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal. Judge of the Court of Appeal Nimal Gamini Amaratunga and President of the Court of Appeal Justice Saleem Marsoof were sworn as Judges of the Supreme Court. Justice A. M. Somawansa took oaths as the new President of the Court of Appeal, while High Court Judges Messrs. W. L. R. Silva, Sisira D. Abrew and E. L. Basnayake were sworn in as new Judges of the Court of Appeal.
