Five year US entry visas
[April 6, 2005 - 9.45 GMT]

The US Government has agreed to reintroduce multiple entry visas valid for five years for Sri Lankans traveling to the United States. The visa facility available from Monday [April 4] will allow frequent travelers to the US due to business or family considerations, to receive visas valid for five years compared to the one year visas issued previously.

The Sri Lankan Immigration authorities will similarly take action to provide the same facility for US citizens visiting Sri Lanka. This new scheme is expected to facilitate more business and travel between the two countries.
