Sri Lanka says thank you to US Marines

Admiral William J. Fallon, Commander of the U.S. Pacific Command called on Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar on Monday, April 11 in Colombo. Admiral Fallon who  was recently made Pacific commander  was here as a part of the annual programme of the US Pacific Command.

Minister Kadirgamar briefed Admiral Fallon on Sri Lanka’s post tsunami reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts including the position with regard to the proposed Joint Mechanism with the LTTE.

Kadirgamar further thanked the US Marines for their contribution to relief activities in the immediate aftermath of the tsunami. Admiral Fallon will tour tsunami-affected areas during his stay in Sri Lanka
