Shell donates second installment 

[June 16, 2005 - 10.00 GMT] 

The Shell Group handed over the balance Rs. 25 million of their total plegde Rs. 50 million for Tsunami Relief to President Kumaratunga at President’s House, yesterday. A previous cheque of Rs. 25 million was donated for immediate post tsunami relief work in January.

The Country Chairman Mr. Hassan Madani and the Corporate Affairs and Marketing Director Dr. Mahesha Ranasoma presented the cheque to the President, requesting the donation be allocated to the Dune Conservation Projected identified by the Coast Conservation Department.

This donation is part of Shell Group’s overall commitment of US$ 3 to the tsunami-affected countries in the region.
