Minister for Cultural Affairs

President
Chandrika Kumaratunga appointed Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena as the
Minister of Cultural Affairs and National Heritage. He took oaths
yesterday [25th July] evening.
Matara District Parliamentarian Abeywardena held the Deputy
Ministerial portfolio of Healthcare and Nutrition and he was Chief
Minister of the Southern Provincial Council before entering
Parliament.
