Two Chancellors and two
Vice Chancellors appointed

President Chandrika
Kumaratunga has appointed Justice P. Ramanathan as the new Chancellor of
Uva Wellassa University for a period of five years effective from
27th July 2005 and Mr. Chandra Embuldeniya as the
Vice Chancellor of the same University effective from the same date.
The President also
appointed Dr. Lester James Peiris as the new Chancellor of the
University
of Visual and Performing Arts
of Sri Lanka, for a period of 5 years effective from
27th July 2005, and Professor Sarath Amunugama as
the Vice Chancellor of the same university for a period of 3 years
effective from the same.
