New Ministry established
[October 25, 2005 - 10.30 GMT]
A
new Ministry of Petroleum Resources Development has been established
under Article 44(1) of the Constitution effective from
24th October 2005. President Chandrika Kumaratunga
will function as the Minister.
Mr.
Jaliya Medagama, former Secretary to the Ministry of Power and Energy
has been appointed Secretary to this Ministry, in addition to his duties
as Chairman of the Petroleum Corporation.
