Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva to lead Sri Lankan team for talks with LTTE

The Government announced today that the Sri Lanka Government's team for the upcoming talks with the LTTE will be led by the Minister of Health Care and Nutrition, Mr. Nimal Siripala de Silva.

He is a lawyer by profession and a senior Minister of the Government having held several portfolios earlier, and is a member of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, the largest party in the ruling coalition of the United People's Freedom Alliance.

The dates for the talks will be announced later by the Norwegian Government and it will be later this month. The composition of the other members of the Government delegation will also be announced very soon, Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera told the media.
