LTTE constructing new bunkers

According to the Army the LTTE has constructed a new bunker in Trincomalee close to a forward post of the troops. This had been officially intimated to the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) in Trincomalee last morning (27). The troops are awaiting a ruling from the SLMM.

The report on the Army website states that troops serving the post on Sunday (26) at about 12.45 p.m. (local time) witnessed about ten LTTE men constructing the new bunker while an LTTE cadre with a T-56 weapon was providing guard.

Just last Thursday (23) troops at Omanthai, Wanni informed the SLMM of the construction of two new LTTE bunkers, ahead of their Forward Defence Line (FDL) at Omanthai on either side of the A-9 Road.
