India welcomed the talks between the Government and the LTTE held in Geneva last month, the Indian Foreign Ministry said yesterday.

In a statement the Ministry said, "We are also happy to note that both sides have renewed their commitment to respecting and upholding the Ceasefire Agreement."

The Indian Government further urged both sides to continue the political dialogue and welcomed the announcement of another round of talks to take place in April, between the two parties.
