SriLankan Airlines offers Skyward members 50% discount on miles [Wednesday, May 31, 2006 - 10.30 GMT]

SriLankan Airlines has offered its Skyward members worldwide a 50% discount on the number of miles needed to travel between Tokyo and Colombo or Male up to July 15, 2006. This is in celebration of the fifth anniversary of its Tokyo/Male route.

The promotion is on offer to Skywards members worldwide. This means that not only Skywards members in Japan and Sri Lanka, it is also open to Skywards members in Europe, the Middle East, India and Pakistan.

Through this promotion members can experience traditional Japanese culture or tropical Sri Lanka. SriLankan Airlines was voted the “Best Airline in Central Asia” in 2001 and 2002.

Skywards Miles is the award-winning frequent flyer program of SriLankan and its strategic partner Emirates. The miles are accumulated each time a member flies either for business or pleasure which leads to rewards such as free travel, upgrades and other benefits.

Whereas usually a Skywards member would need to redeem 60,000 Miles to obtain an Economy Class return ticket Tokyo/Colombo or Colombo/Tokyo, Tokyo Male or Male/Tokyo, the promotion offers such a ticket at only 30,000 Miles.
