Blast in Trinco kills six, injures 14 [Monday, July 3, 2006 - 8.30 GMT] 

According to the Army an explosion occurred in Trincomalee, Anuradhapura juction around 11. 45 am today (3/7). The bomb was reportedly in a three-wheeler parked near the market targeting civilians. The blast had been triggered by a remote control device.
 

The Media Centre for National Security reports three policemen, an Army soldier, a Home Guard and a civilian as killed due to the explosion. A total of fourteen persons have been seriously injured.
