LTTE’s Daya Master rushed to Colombo for treatment [Thursday, July 13, 2006 - 9.15 GMT]

President Mahinda Rajapaksa gave instructions to relevant authorities to make transport and security arrangements to take Daya Master who had suffered a severe heart attack to Colombo for urgent medical treatment.

The Government responded promptly to the request made by the LTTE media spokesperson’s family based in Kilinochchi. According to the website for National Security Daya Master had to undergo immediate surgery as he was in a critical condition.

The President and the Government responded to the families’ request on humanitarian grounds which clearly indicates President Rajapaksa’s and the Governments’ deep commitment to the continuation of the peace process.
