Army Chief resumes duties [Wednesday , July 26, 2006 - 4.10 GMT]

The Army reports that Commander Sarath Fonseka returned to the island last evening after completing his medical treatment in Singapore, has resumed his duties as Commander of the Army.

It was exactly three month ago that the Army Chief survived an LTTE suicide attack in the Army Headquarters premises. He was later flown to Singapore for further medical treatment.
