International English conference to be held in Colombo [Tuesday, August 1, 2006 - 8.30 GMT]

The International SLELTA (Sri Lanka English Language Teacher’s Association) conference will be held from August 4 – 6 2006 at the BMICH/BCIS.

The opening of the conference will be presided by Minister of Education Susil Premajayantha, August 4 at 9.30 am at the BMICH Committee Room A.

The conference will deal with the use of English for equality, employment and empowerment. The plenary speakers include leading academics from national and international institutions, such as Professor Swales of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and Professors Siromi Fernando and Arjuna Parakrama.
