Policemen training in Tamil Nadu not sent back to SL- Foreign Ministry [Tuesday , August 08, 2006- 10.05 GMT]

The Foreign Ministry today denied that Sri Lankan policemen training in Tamil Nadu were sent back, as reported in certain media yesterday.

“One module of their training finished in Coimbatore. The content and duration of the entire training remains the same,” said spokesperson Himalee Arunatilake.

She went on to say that training takes place in several areas and that the training in Coimbatore was simply one segment of that training. The police officers have not been sent back to Sri Lanka.
