The Govt. requests LTTE cadres to surrender to Security Forces [Monday, August 14, 2006 - 7.45 GMT]

According to the Centre for National Security information reaching Security Forces confirm that LTTE cadres are deserting their organization, despite their leadership's orders  following ,  LTTE's continuous defeats  against the Security Forces in the confrontations which  took place in Muttur, Mavil Aru and Jaffna during the past few days.

Security Forces confirm that there are many child recruits among the LTTE cadres killed in the confrontations that took place during the last 48 hours.
 A large number of LTTE cadres in the East have already deserted the organization.

Deserting LTTE cadres have requested security from the Government both directly and indirectly through civil representatives.

The Government requests all child recruits and other LTTE cadres to surrender to the nearest Security Forces camp or Police Station.
