Food and other facilities for displaced in Jaffna [Wednesday, August 16, 2006- 9.45 GMT]

The Ministry of Nation Building and Development is to provide immediate food and other facilities to civilians displaced in the Jaffna district. Steps have been taken to supply food items, medicine and sanitary goods worth Rs. 25 million to all displaced families in Jaffna including the fishing community through the Jaffna Government Agent. This is being done on the instructions of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The food items include rice, flour, curry stuff, dhal, green gram, coconut oil, tea leaves, sugar, B onions, gram, infant milt food and full cream milk powder.
