LTTE attack successfully repulsed by Forces [Thursday, August 17, 2006 - 9.20 GMT]

Heavy battles raged last night in Kilali with the LTTE  trying to break the Forward Defence Lines (FDL) of the Forces says the Media Centre for National Security (MCNS).

“They attacked by sea as well, but both attacks failed, we retaliated hard”, said Maj. Upali Rajapaksa of the MCNS.

During the sea battle three tiger boats were completely destroyed. According to the MCNS the Forces have 98 tiger bodies with them after the battle.
