Five new Ministers, Dy. Ministers sworn in [Friday, August 25, 2006 - 9.00 GMT]

Five MPs from the Ceylon Worker’s Congress (CWC) and the Up Country People’s Front (UCPF) swore in as Ministers and Deputy Ministers before President Mahinda Rajapaksa today at the President’s Office.

Leader of the CWC Arumugan Thondaman was sworn in as Minister of Youth Empowerment and Socio Economic Development, while leader of the UCPF P. Chandrasekeran was sworn in as Minister of Community Development and Social Inequity Eradication.

MP M. Sivalingam swore in as Deputy Minister of Estate Infrastructure Development, M. Satchithanandan as Deputy Minister of Education and P. Radhakirshnan as Deputy Minister of Vocational Training.
