The LTTE leadership has called for a three-month compulsory military training for all children in un-liberated areas in Wanni. The military training has been announced as essential to make a student eligible for sitting at the Ordinary level and Advanced level examinations conducted by the Government Examination Department.The Ministry of Defence reports that students who refuse to undergo military training conducted by the LTTE will be deprived of education for the rest of their lives, despite the free education being provided to all in the country. According to military sources the LTTE suffering huge losses in terms of man power during the recent battles against the Security Forces, has the led the outfit to impose such compulsory training.
