Around 7.20 this morning a claymore mine was blasted targeting Air Force personnel at physical training at Poowarasankulam, Vavuniya. One airman died in the attack. According to the Media Center for National Security (MCNS) an injured airman is currently receiving treatment in hospital. The MCNS also reports that yesterday six LTTE cadres from Vakarai surrendered to the Reedithenna Army camp in Welikanda. Meanwhile in Trincomalee an unidentified gunman shot dead a Muslim businessman Mohommed Musar (40) around 7.55 pm yesterday.
