Two boys fired at by suspected LTTE gunman [Wednesday, September 27, 2006 -10.00 GMT]

A suspected LTTE gunman shot and injured two children, 15 and 16 respectively at Kottakallar, Batticaloa yesterday, at around 10.30 pm. The two injured children were admitted to the Batticaloa hospital.

Police are conducting investigations.

The Army reports that Air Force fighter craft shelled an LTTE sea tiger training camp north of Mannar, yesterday causing heavy damages to the terrorists.

Meanwhile another LTTE cadre surrendered to the troops at the Kallar Army detachment in Batticaloa yesterday morning (26).
