Govt. compensation for Muttur terrorist victims [Tuesday , October 03, 2006 -9.30 GMT]

The Government will pay full compensation to the Muttur terrorist victims during the next two weeks. Minister of Disaster Relief Services Ameer Ali said Rs. 85,000 would be paid to the relatives of each of the victims. Earlier Rs. 15, 000 was given to each family for funeral expenses.

The Minister said once the proposal is approved by the Cabinet and the relevant paper work completed the compensation would be paid to the families.

He further said plans were underway to rebuild the damaged houses and infrastructure in the area.
