President rescinds with immediate effect Gazette notification bringing a large number of essential services under Emergency Regulations [Wednesday, October 04, 2006 - 13.00 GMT]

By Extraordinary Gazette notification No. 1464/26 President Mahinda Rajapaksa rescinded with immediate effect the Extraordinary Gazette notification which brought a large number of essential services under the Emergency Regulation.

A large number of essential services such as all services relating to the supply of electricity and the production of petroleum etc were brought under the Emergency Regulations by Extraordinary Gazette notification Section 40 of Schedule 03, published August 3, 2006 in terms of Emergency Regulation 1456/27.
