The Muhamalai Forward Defence Line (FDL) came under continued attacks from the LTTE, injuring a soldier early this morning. Security Forces retaliated to counter the continuous attacks on the forward defences. According to the Media Centre for National Security (MCNS) the LTTE last night stepped up mortar attacks on the FDL of the security forces killing one soldier and injuring two others. The injured were rushed for treatment to the Palali hospital. Meanwhile last afternoon a 28 year old man from Savalpittu, Thalappaththi was shot dead by an LTTE pistol gang near the Anakotte, Manthikai housing complex.
