Schools in Jaffna report 60% attendance

Despite a LTTE statement to boycott school, schools in Jaffna were re-opened with 60% attendance reported said Military spokesman Brig. Prasad Samarasinghe.

According to the Media Centre for National Security (MCNS) Brig. Samarasinghe has said the Kinniya, Mutur, Trincomalee road will be opened for the free movement of people.

The Brigadier further said that already 25,600 tons of foodstuffs have been transported to the North. A ship has been in service to transport passengers to Trincomalee to Kankasanturai daily on permanent basis.
