LTTE attacks on Muhamalai FDL intensifies; troops retaliate
[Wednesday, October 11, 2006- 9.00 GMT]

The LTTE this morning further intensified its attacks on the Forward Defence Lines of the Security Forces in Muhamalai, with artillery, mortars, RPGs and ground attacks say military sources.

These sources said troops had observed the LTTE building up behind its lines. The Army had retaliated with MBRLs and with assistance from Air Force Kafirs which are currently targeting identified targets.

It had also been observed that the LTTE was being reinforced by sea. The Navy was brought in to curb this.

The Forces have so far suffered minor injuries.
