Cabinet approval for Ministers to draw MPs salaries

The Cabinet has unanimously approved the Cabinet paper submitted by President Mahinda Rajapaksa which requests all Ministers to draw the same salaries given to Members of Parliament. 

Government spokesman Minister Anura Priyadharshana Yapa announced this today during the Press briefing on Cabinet decisions held in Colombo. 

The Information Department quotes the Minister as saying, “All the ministers in the Cabinet highly approve of this request by the President”.
