LTTE hurl hand grenade at police post in Vavuniya [Friday, October 20, 2006-11.30 GMT]

LTTE this morning hurled a hand grenade at the Police Post at Pancharakulam, Vavuniya this morning. According to the Media Centre for National Security (MCNS) one constable was injured during this attack. He was rushed to the Vavuniya hospital.

Meanwhile the MCNS further reports that the LTTE had fired 81mm mortars at the Chenkalady Black Bridge Army point yesterday (19) at 9.30 p.m. 

Troops had retaliated with mortar fire, but no casualties were reported.
