LTTE fire directed at troops on duty in Mavil aru [Friday, October 27, 2006 - 10.45 GMT]

The LTTE had today fired with machine guns and small arms at troops on duty in Mavil aru.

However, according to a spokesperson from the Media Centre for National Security (MCNS) the situation had not developed any further. No casualties were reported.

Meanwhile this morning the LTTE had exploded an improvised bomb on the Kebbithigollewa – Madawachchiya road between Hirullugama and Gonamariyawa.
