Air Force bombs sea tiger training base
[Tuesday, November 21, 2006 - 8.30 GMT]

The Sri Lankan Air Force this morning bombed an identified tiger base North of Pudikudiruppu causing severe damage to the base.

The Media Centre for National Security (MCNS) said the targets in the East had been identified previously as training bases of the sea tigers and had been used as a launching pad to attack the Navy and ground forces in the recent past.

Meanwhile yesterday the Air Force destroyed tiger bases at Kranchi, an area North of Mannar.

The MCNS says both attacks were carried out on targets precisely and accurately identified as tiger bases, based on electronic surveillance and ground intelligence.
