“Let’s resolve to start a new journey with hopes”, President tells his staff in the New Year

President Mahinda Rajapaksa, in his address to his staff today (January 02) at the Presidential Secretariat said that all should resolve to provide an efficient service to the people who come to get a job done and the officers of the Presidential Secretariat particularly should set an example to other government institutions by discharging their duties efficiently.

President said so participating in a New Year ceremony organized to extend greetings to the staff.  

Stressing the importance of providing an effective service worthy of emulation by others working in various government institutions said that he is personally exercising vigilance over their performances. He appealed to the entire public service to discharge their duties properly without concentrating on the promotions and salary increments alone.  

The President further stated that we are in a position to organize ceremonies like this because of the members of the security forces performing their task at the risk of their lives and that we all are indebted to them.

He requested his staff to join with him to go on a new journey and make a start in the dawn of this New Year.
