Soldier killed in Claymore bomb attack

A claymore bomb attack by the LTTE, targeting an army patrol in Pirapanmaduwa area today (4) at 9. 45 a.m. has killed a soldier. 

The Media Centre for National Security (MCNS) says that two soldiers injured in this attack have been admitted to the Anuradhapura hospital and a
joint search operation by the army and police has been launched. 

Meanwhile, another LTTE attack on an army check point in Kalyanapura, Welioya at about 8. 45 a.m. has killed a soldier. The news says that in a search operation in the area carried out after army retaliation, the dead body of an LTTE cadre and a T56 weapon were found.
