Two Home-guards planting Claymore bombs for army taken to custody

Two Home-guards attached to Welikanda Police station were taken into custody by the Welikanda police yesterday (Jan. 04) when planting Claymore bombs
targeting security forces.

It has been revealed under interrogation of these two Home-guards that they have been detailed by the LTTE to explode Claymore bombs at places specified by the LTTE on a payment of Rs. 3000 for each bomb. 

Along with the suspects two Claymore bombs and a stock of detonators also had been taken into custody.  

These two Home-guards in custody are Buhary Nazeer and Sulaiman Lebbe Mustapha who were attached to Welikanda Police and the North Central Province Deputy Inspector General of Police said that they are detained at the Welikanda Police station for further interrogation.
