One Buddhist monk and two soldiers were among the fourteen persons who received minor injuries when a small anti-personnel device exploded accidentally at the "Deyata Kirula" exhibition at the BMICH grounds this afternoon.

The explosion took place at the Police Special Task Force (STF) stall at the exhibition.

The injured have been rushed for medical attention.

The STF stall has been temporarily closed while inquiries are on to ascertain the cause of the explosion.

The explosion initially caused some excitement among the crowd at the exhibition, but conditions returned to normal very soon.
