Navy destroys two LTTE boats 
[Friday, February 23, 2007 - 8.15 GMT]    

Two suspected boats which did not respond to orders to stop off the coast of Battalangunduwa, Puttalam yesterday evening were fired at by the Navy, said the Media Centre or National Security (MCNS). Both boats were destroyed. According to the Navy there had been 6 and 3 terrorists respectively in the boats.  

In another incident off the coast of Seelawatura, the Navy had fired at two more suspected terrorist boats but they had turned back and fled.
