Foreign Minister calls for collective effort

Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama called for a collective effort to successfully combat   terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, when he met Indian External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukerjee in New Delhi this week.
  
He also briefed his Indian counterpart on the current developments in the peace process and their manifest potential to contributing to a negotiated political solution to the national question, which is equitable to all communities within an undivided Sri Lanka.
  
Minister Bogollagama also explained that allegations of the Sri Lanka Navy firing on Indian fishermen were found to be false upon investigations. However, he proposed that both governments should take effective measures in the interests of fisheries communities of both countries.
  
He also pledged Sri Lanka’s commitment to working for a successful SAARC Summit next month under the Chairmanship of India.
  
The Minister also met former Indian Prime Minister A.B. Vajpayee, Indian Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar, Defence Minister A.K. Antony and the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, L.K. Advani
