Govt duty bound to provide good health service
[Thursday, March 22, 2007 - 10.30 GMT]

The government is duty bound to provide a good health service to all its citizens and today we have allocated an unprecedented sum of money for providing health services, said President Mahinda Rajapaksa at a ceremony to hand over letters of appointment to 1200 new recruits to the nursing profession held at Temple Trees, Colombo today (22).

“As public servants we must serve the country with dedication”, he noted. He called upon the nurses to treat all patients, including terrorists with due attention.

He also called upon everyone not to tarnish the image of the heroic security forces due to personal or political differences and invited them to substantiate with proof any allegations they have against the Government.
