Sea Tigers get a beating

In a battle that last for four hours on Wednesday (28) night the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) destroyed 3 LTTE boats and damaged another, a Navy spokesman said.

According to the SLN its Fast attack Craft (FACs) patrolling the North-eastern coast had spotted 10 boats moving southwards off Alampil at about 10.30 p.m on Wednesday 28. Thereafter, they have identified them as LTTE boats and intercepted their movement.

Six boats have managed to escape while 12 LTTE cadres are believed to be killed in the confrontation.
