Terrorists attack Omanthai Check point

LTTE terrorists launched a mortar attack on the entry and exit check points at Omanthai on the A-9 highway. One soldier was killed and 3 others were injured in the attack.
  
The Media Centre for National security (MCNS) in a statement said that the objective of the attack was to prevent the people from obtaining New Year relief provided to the State. The check point was closed temporarily as a result of the attack, the MCNS added.
