Giving a new twist to the saga of alleged disappearances, information reaching from the Department of Immigration and Emigration reveal that a considerable number of persons who were reported to have disappeared has obtained travel documents from the Department after the date in which complaints were made about their alleged disappearance.

Already more than 7 of them have actually left the country, according to an investigation conducted by the Department. Some diplomatic missions in Colombo have also corroborated evidence of such emigration, the same sources said.
