Sri Lanka gets more foreign aid

Sri Lanka received more aid commitments during the first half of 2007 increasing the total to US $ 874 million. The increase during the first half of this year was US$ 237 million or 27%. This is a clear indication of the confidence of the donor’s in the economic performance of the Government, analysts commented.
  
Of the total aid commitments comprised US $ 803 million project loans and US $ 71 million grants. Japan was the highest donor with US $ 362.8 million, followed by the ADB with US $ 300 million.
