[Tuesday, September 11, 2007 - 7.00 GMT]

The Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) has sunk three ships transporting a heavy load of weapons to the LTTE terrorists According to SLN sources the three ships were carrying, heavy mortar guns, multi barrel rocket launchers, aircraft spare parts, large stocks of ammunition, fuel, a bullet-proof vehicle etc.

The SLN on sighting these ships off the South East of Dondra Head Sea last night (10) had communicated with them to verify their identity, as they had no identification flags. Instead of identifying the vessels had fired at the Navy, which resulted in the Navy retaliating and sinking them.
