Vavuniya: Army repulse LTTE attack

Fourteen LTTE terrorists were killed, twenty four injured and six bunkers were destroyed when the Army retaliated to attacks by the Terrorists in the Vavuniya area on Wednesday (14), Defence sources revealed.
  
In Kallikulam area one LTTE terrorist was killed around 7.45 a.m. due to retaliatory fire by troops. A soldier was also reported killed and another injured in the incident.

Around 8.00 a.m., four soldiers were injured as a result of Anti- Personnel mines in the KANNADI area.

Eight LTTE terrorists were killed at 10.40 a.m. when troops destroyed six bunkers in Narikkulam, Vavuniya. LTTE communication intercepts confirm that 24 terrorists were injured in the incident including a female LTTE leader identified as MADUELI.  
 
Five LTTE terrorists were killed around 12.55 p.m. in Vilaththikulam area when troops fired mortars
