The Second Reading of the Third Budget of President Mahinda Rajapaksa's Government was passed in Parliament today (19) with a majority of 16 votes.
The UPFA, JHU, SLMC, CWC, UPF, UNP (Democratic Group) and Ven. Uduwe Dhammaloka Thera MP voted for the Budget. The UNP, JVP and TNA, and MPs Mangala Samaraweera and Sripathy Sooriyaratchi also voted against it. MPs Nandana Gunatileke and Wijayadasa Rajapaksha abstained from voting.
